Certifications for Four Domains

In Finland, Association of Project Professionals offers international IPMA® Certifications in four domains: project, programme, portfolio and agile leadership. In project and agile leadership there are four levels (Level A, B, C and D), in programme and portfolio there are two levels in each – levels A and B.

The lowest level, Level D, certification is meant for those who do not yet have or have very little experience in leading projects. Just having theoretical knowledge is enough. To reach the highest level, Level A, you need to have several years’ worth of experience and proof of leading very complex and strategic projects. Other certificates’ requirements fit in between these two.

All together IPMA’s certification system has 12 competence profiles or roles each with their own professional title. The table below shows all IPMA’s competence profiles by level and domain.
